Gum Infection Is Equal To Serious Health Conditions
Just when you thought that swollen gums are “just” swollen gums. You better think twice. Neglected gum infection can lead to a more serious dental problem known as gum disease or gingivitis. Gingivitis, according to medical experts is linked to some chronic health problems all throughout the body. Research has shown that one of the health problem associated with gingivitis is heart disease. Gingivitis lives with the bacteria in the mouth and if a person has a valve problem in the heart, the bacteria has the capacity to pass through the heart and eventually infect it. Second to heart disease is diabetes. People who have gum diseases are more likely to be diagnosed with diabetes, and as we all know that diabetes can even lead to deadly health conditions. Lastly, gum diseases are found out to affect pregnant women. Mothers who are suffering from gum diseases are found to have weak immune system, the result ranges from giving birth to premature babies, low birth weight and even birth defects. I know, you are not just thinking twice about your gum infection now.
